Hi there

OK it is pretty much no shock or news that in the buildup to the vote to leave the EU the GBP vs the USD was around the 1.45 mark and peaked at 1.50 just prior to the announcement that BREXIT was taking effect and the vote to leave the EU had won. The rate quickly plummeted into the 1.30's and then it held position for a while. Now that article 50 is announced and will proceed no later by March 2017 the pound is weakening almost by the day to the point where today its dangerously close to the 1.20 mark, though it had risen from previous lows of 1.10, those who forecast rates are saying it will only become lower.

In affect this means a lot of prices are going up on computer components and generally other items which are imported from the Far East and purchased in USD. Its not just at OcUK, these price changes have happened everywhere, those who pre-ordered EVGA 1080 FTW at launch and got them for £599 got themselves a bargain as today that same card is £709.99 so do enjoy your appreciated.

I myself purchased a new car at the start of this year for £35,000, that same car now has increased to over £38,000 due to weakening pound.

We voted to leave EU (Brexit) end of June, the chart below shows the impact to leave:

XE.jpg

So purely for example lets say trade cost from Asia on a 1080 is USD $600, pre-brexit this would be 600 / 1.45 = £413.79 excluding VAT cost.
Now purely for example the trade USD cost from Asia on 1080 is still USD $600, after-brexit (today) 600 / 1.20 = £500.00 excluding VAT cost.

By the time margin has being added and VGA all which are lets say is 10% margin and 20% for VAT, the cost increase on an example product costing $600 to bring to the UK has now risen by over £100 to the consumer.

After a conversation this morning with KFA2 on how they can increase market share in the UK, we came up with the idea that they will support all our stock on qualifying lines to bring it down to pre-brexit pricing for *ONE WEEK*, doing it for longer is not possible as we have forecasted this will cost around $20,000 in support to do per week, of which of course cannot be sustained unless of course you'd like them to eventually go bust.....

With this support we can bring you most of the KFA2 10 series cards at their lowest prices ever, the cards which are being supported are below and remember the FREE Gears of War 4 PC & Xbox One game that comes included:

Considering the GBP value is now hovering around 1.20, this actually now means products now cost more than they do in dollars compared to USA, for the simple fact you have 20% UK VAT on top. 1.30 was pretty much the ratio for 1:1 pricing with US dollars with VAT added, now were above it.

At least one thing at the rate things are going I won't need currency conversion or calculators as the pound will soon only get you 1 euro and 1 dollar, will certainly make working out conversions easier. :D
