My fabulous ship
Hi all, so I'm a lill confused.

I have a KFA2 780 TI, and when I boot, I get the following image before bios:

Hwh3GTJl.jpg

after a lill googling about, I hear that I need to find some vBios drivers? and that gpu manufacturers, for some crazy reason, don't put out to the public?.... ??

this message usually adds around 3 seconds to my boot up time and I am hitting around 20 seconds in fast boot :(

Last time I seen those kind of messages on post was back in the voodoo 5 GeForce 2 days. Strange its doing it, as said not seen a card do that in over 10 years.

I had this with my SSD, which at the time was in the wrong port, I moved it to the correct port and that message went away, so I am thinking this GPU isn't being recognised as UEFI compliant.

here's a video with fast boot, same motherboard but different GPU, notice the lack of GPU VGA bios before post..... infact notice the lack of post period:

This is what I'm trying to achieve, but the vbios keeps appearing before post.

My older cards did this but I am sure I changed a setting in the GPU Bios and reflash to stop it.

Should not be seeing in UEFI mode.

so I got an email back today (hooray):

Sorry for the delay on this.. Its not been easy to get hold of.. Please see attached Bios – Thanks

Graham

it's version 5006, up from 4887 :D so I'm going to flash right away :) I'll let you know how it goes :)

sadly didn't do anything to my uefi support although I have a higher version number now, it made no difference.

I'm wondering if it's because when I installed windows, I installed on SSD when it was in a non uefi port? would that be a problem?

That MSG was on older GPU Bioses back in day when you seen the Memory being tested a startup etc, post took ages.

It had nothing got do with Legacy vs UEFI and was there long before UEFI was here.

On my last few GPU's I have never seen that in Legacy mode.

If you captured the Bios and loaded it in to Nibitor you could see the far right Tab would have the post msg screen, you could tell it not to show this during post but editing it and flashing it again.

where have you been for the last 2 months? awesome thanks dude :D I needed this!

can I change the text display time to 0 also? or should I leave as is?

also, I can't use nibitor, it doesn't recognise kfa2 as a vendor, the integrity check comes as red, and I get a load of errors when I open my bios into it... I tried going to the site but it's a dummy site?
