Hey,

I was wondering if anyone could possibly spread some light on 980ti HoF? Now my current GFX card (670 Ex OC) was KFA2 so I like the brand. However, I think I am now in need of an upgrade. Primary use would be for game.

1) Is it worth the extra £100 plus over the reference or are there better alternatives, I have used EVGA in the past and liked them as well.

2) Im not looking to make my new build until Aug/Sep when the new intel CPU's are supposed to release, however, I seem to remember that HoFs were usually a limited run, am I right with this and therefore do I need to purchase one now?

3) I do intend to overclock, would it be better to buy this and overclock or buy a ref card design and stick a cooling block on?

Cheers for the help.

Dont think they are a limited run. THeres always been HoFs for the 980 as long as i can remember and they still show stock. What made you think that tehy were?

The only reason G1 is all the rage right now is the fact it's one of very few custom models that have been launched and reviewed in any meaningful numbers as yet. It's not the perfect card some people make it out to be and once the stocks fill up with the various aftermarket designs, Gigabyte's effort will be just another option among others.

HoFs are awesome, the only possible minus is the shortish warranty (2 years) although this is likely an academical issue only, one that might have a negative effect on the eventual resale price.

1. Yes the cards stay cooler thats why its worth it.
2.no you dont need to purchase one now as they are not a limited so buy in aug/sep.
3.buy the KFA2 or buy reference card and stick cooling block which is what some people do.(i have never gone watercooled do so cant say)
