I've just replaced my HD7850 with a GTX 660, I ran Valley Benchmark and the temps got up to 79c, I haven't overclocked it yet, I don't even know what software to use to overclock it, but if it's getting this hot standard I don't think overclocking is an option!

Is this normal for this card?
 
It is normal bud. I would use something like EVGA Precision X/MSI afterburner and set an aggressive fan curve of 1:1

30c = 3-% fan
40c = 40% fan
50c = 50% fan
60c = 60% fan
70c = 70% fan

See how that goes.
