KFA2 GTX 670 2GB GPU Clock/Overclocking Queries!

Hey guys,

As seen on GPU-Z, my GTX 670 is:

GPU Clock: 915MHz
Boost Clock: 980MHz

However without any Overclocking on my behalf, it is reaching 1071MHz!

Is this common at all?, basically overclocks itself if needs be?
Just thought I'd share this with you.

Also does anyone have the same card and therefore have any recommended set-ups etc?.

That 1071Mhz you see is the boost kicking in and is perfectly normal. You can still push the sliders up and overclock the card.

Set the power target to the right as far as it will go.
Set the GPU Clock offset to +100
Set the memory clock offset to +200
Run Heaven/valley or 3DMark and see how it gets on. If it passes a full loop on Heaven or valley, you can bump the 'GPU clock offset' some more (Go up in 10's) and when it fails, knock it back 20Mhz and that should see you well for an overclock. If it fails whilst gaming, knock another 10Mhz off the core. If the memory is clocked too high, you will see black/grey triangles and possible disco light effects on screen.

Best of luck :)

My 670 didn't appreciate the GPU +100 and Memory +200, wasn't stable whilst running Heaven, was fine at +95 & +90.

Increased power target to max (122%) as well, saw an increase in +300 to my Fire Strike score

My kfa 2 OC boosts to 1150 default and wont go any higher on the CORE, on the memory it goes to +700 mhz but i feel the voltage of 1.175 is too low for anything near 1200mhz, if only i could be bothered to use a modded bios, but i will be selling the card when something new comes out.

My figures were a starting base line. Some get lucky and can go +200 or more on the core and others are lucky to make +40 on the core.

Graphics chips are very much independent and nothing is set in stone when it comes to consistency.
