Im ordering this card next week and wondering if anyone is using this card and what thier opinons are on it noise and temp ect ect.

Thanks

You would be surprised. They are very quite bearing in mind how much of a beast the card is. as for temp some people have had the issues with it manly as they havent got great airflow within there cases but im assuming your usin the cm atcs840 so you should have no problems with it. p.s you will love the card :D

also 1 downside id like to add is that you dont have a lot of overclocking headroom but well dont think you would need to haha :P there may be a couple reviews on youtube bud but 9.5/10 card in my opinion its GREAT!

The normall 670 and 680 are the core clock on the normall 670 is at 915mhz and the card hes getting is clocked at 1006mhz so has a little extra boost so that will be why there isint as much headroom

any reason why you are planning on getting a 4GB one?
at 1080p it will be completely wasted, I'd just get the 2GB one if I were you, it's also on a pretty good price on OCUK right now at £311, as all the other deals on 670's seem to have disappeared - might be worth waiting for the windforce to be back on special

4GB models are really for SLI and large resolutions rather than 1080p single monitor / single card

As I will be getting a 27" Dell soon to go with it :)

Still not as much as a normall card has. go read reviews they all say what ive said

a pure stock nvidia reference card tends to top out just south of 1200mhz boost clock, a KFA EX OC (a good one) will OC to just over 1300mhz

so that's 1200 - 915 = 285mhz of headroom
vs 1300 - 1006 = 294mhz of headroom

the KFA EX OC actually has MORE headroom than a stock card :p

They are not the stock boost clocks though are they

then you'll be wanting 2 670's :D

I personally would go 2x 2GB 670, rather than 1 4GB 670, if that's what you were planning

I'd agree with that, with a 2560x1440 monitor you are going to hit a playable FPS limit on a single GTX670 4GB before you hit any sort of VRam limit. This is especially true of games like BF3, Metro 2033 etc. Save your money, get a single 2GB GTX670 and get a second when funds allow.

Well if its stating the obvious then why are u saying im wrong:L?

Because you said it was a downside. I don't see how being higher clocked out the box and as such having less headroom than a reference card can be classed a bad thing???

(on the assumption that they both overclock to the the same level and factoring in the silicon lottery)
