KFA2 GTX680 LTD OC

My brother has just bought one of these cards but can only get his Dell U2711 to output 1920 x 1080 and not it's native 2560 x 1440.

He's spent a fortune on HDMI cables and they are "high speed" so should be adequate.

Can anyone shed light?

You need a dvi cable,there is 2 different types and can't remember what the one you new is but it is dvi.

you need a dual link DVI cable or Display port cable if the monitor supports display port?

This card comes with just three mini-HDMI ports and no DVI guys

But it's pretty poor if he had 2 x 27" monitors instead of a 27" and a 24" given there is only one DisplayPort connection

KFA2 messed up with those connections IMO. DL-DVI comes as standard on pretty much all 680's except KFA2.

As above, 2560x1440 either needs to be DL-DVI or DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort.

The outputs on this card are an epic fail, ported from galaxy's last-gen 'MDT' tech (where they were actually viable).

It's bizarre they chose to stick with it because now their top end card has worse outputs than a reference.
