Khan Vs McCloskey

Wouldn't call two grown men cuddling on the floor the most enjoyable sport unless you're in to that sort of thing.

You're clearly an Ultimate Floor Cuddling fan.

Hey if you're into watching fella's in hotpants cuddling on the floor, then that's up to you. I'll just need to make sure, that if we are ever in the same bar together, and I drop my wallet on the floor. I'll be sure to kick it out to the carpark before picking it up. ;)

Oh how the uneducated make me laugh.

I wanna get in on this hugging.

Anyway, brilliant fight. Shame about the way it ended. Barrera was cut worse than that, was he not?

Boxing is pretty much finished as a spectacle. In comparison to MMA is a snore fest. There are no stars of the sport anymore. They are all in MMA, strikeforce and UFC in particular.

The UFC have turned MMA into the best and most enjoyable sport in the world today. There are so many great stars in every division... I think boxing will die an enormous death very soon because of people like Khan, he got obliterated by Breidis Prescott and has fought nobody since... his management parade him as a great British prospect and he fights Barrera way out of his prime...its a complete nonsense and people are waking up to it.

You do not have any clue what you are talking about whatsoever. Its not even worth countering any of your points because they are stupid and it is clear you are just MMA fanboi who wants a MMA > boxing argument.

To be fair they were replying to an uneducated comment. I guess they felt that they had to communicate with him on a level that he'd understand...

Uneducated? I simply stated for fact that there are no stars of Boxing anymore. Manny is the only attraction that boxing has, the sport is on its knees. In the 70's and 80's, there were literally dozens of Boxers that where household names. Most people could name at least 30 of the top of their head, ask those people now... and they would struggle to name 10...Over the last 10 years I cant remember being excited by a decent heavyweight fight.... because there haven't been any decent heavyweights in a generation.

Conversely MMA is growing with each event lead by the UFC. Its crammed with exciting fighters and with the recent purchase of Strikeforce it will only get better.

My post was not mean't to troll... I used to love boxing... my point, to reiterate was that boxing is no longer the sport it once was and MMA has filled the void it left. Not only because its far more entertaining, but because there are no longer the fighters around that make Boxing even slightly interesting...

Oh....The ground game in MMA can be absolutely thrilling if you understand what you are watching... for uneducated comments see : "if you like two guys cuddling"...etc!!!

lol didnt even bother watching it, cant stand him, typical Bolton person, read the paper today and it said he wants to fight Pacman, just lol at that thought of that.

That's odd, he specifically said after the fight that he would never fight Pacquaio.

Any fighter worth his salt would want to get in the ring with Pacman. For any fighter a fight with pacquiao would not only be the biggest fight of their career, but also a chance to test his skills against one of the best fighters that boxing has ever seen.

Khan's next fight is against Bradley, and if Khan wins then he'd be one of the most legitimate opponents around for Pacquiao too. Beating Bradley would make Khan the lineal and undisputed champ at 140. The only better fight for Pac is Ortiz, but Khan just beat the guy who beat Ortiz. Other than that you could make a case for Martinez, but that would mean another big step up in weight for Pacquiao which probably isn't plausible.

Yeah I raised an eyebrow too when Khan mentioned names like Pacquiao while he was still fighting bums in his back yard, but Khan is a top fighter in his division now.

Just watched Berto - Ortiz, what a sensational fight. Berto looked stunned, Ortiz looked like a man possessed. Definately fight of the year so far. :)

Yeah Victor refused to be denied that night, probably partially because of the questions around his heart after the Maidana loss. I was made up for Ortiz at the end, as you can't help but like the guy with his attitude and backstory.

Probably my favorite fighter right now ! So glad he's pulled back all the respect he deserves.

Berto has always looked scary to me. To take him down like that, is top respect from everyone.

Re the Maidana fight, hmmmm, don't forget he did knock him down a couple of times, its just that the little Argie doesn't know when to stay down ! Shame about his post fight comments, but he is just a kid still.

As for the Lamont Peterson fight, I think he was robbed of the win.
