My only thoughts would be that it is a pack of 2gig moduals, and they are more expensive to make compaired to 1gig moduals.?

Yeah a pack of 2x2gig moduals, and the others are packs of 2x1gig moduals.

Hence them being more expensive.

There is no such thing as:

KHX8500S3ULK2/2G

Which would be 2x1GB, this series from Kingston only exists as 4gb since a 2gb version would make no sense.

The prices I am talking are for identical sets of ram.

Well I have a program to set the memory timings as I thought they were on an XMP but after emailing Kinston they say that as long as the laptop goes by SPD (mine does) that it should default to the CAS5 timings.

I wonder if I can hammer down the other timings to 4 maybe? Heh.
