Kick in the teeth for Sky and the Premier League

You do realise that Sky or Murdoch dont own ANY satellites, they just rent transponders from Astra.
Worst thing with Sky is you have to take loads of basic channels you never watch at premium rate before you can even subscribe to the sports channels. I'd had Sky since it's inception, 20 years, everything cost £12.95 pcm back then. Now for basic package/sports/movies/hd/multiroom you aren't going to get much change from a hundred quid a month.
I already voted with my feet.

Baz is correct the PL sell the rights abroad, Sky have no say outside the UK as that's the only area they purchased distribution rights to.
Surely some competition can only be good for us as consumers cant it? Or is it preferable to bend over and take it from Sky every time they increase prices as there's no other choice?
Foreign channels bid for rights just like Sky do, but only what the local market can afford though. Hard to see where Greece are going to be able to pay more.
Then there's the far east and the Arabic states, a market that the PL and clubs are desperate to break into. There's always streams from these areas and the Chinese dont seem too bothered about any copyright nonsense ;)
Personally I see this ruling today as a good thing .
