Stuck my week-old 360 on earlier to play Halo, and it wasn't displaying on my screen. Did a bit of swearing, checked all the connections, and still nothing.
So I plugged the HDMI into my PC, and turned it on....and the PC wouldn't boot. It just sat there, giving out a short beep every half second. Plugged the monitor back in via VGA and it's working fine, so I'm thinking the HDMI cable must be broken?
I was using this workaround to get HDMI and surround sound from the Xbox without having to pay extra for the official M$ one, so I'm wondering if that's what's broken the cable.
Any thoughts? I guess it could be the HDMI socket on the monitor that's broken, but it seems more likely the cable.
