Killed the S6 what to replace it with?

The S6 is dead and I'm after some suggestions of what to replace it with. Historically I would have just gone out and bought that latest version of what I had, but I can't justify the extortionate price of a S9 which is full of pointless features I’d never us once the novelty had worn off. From what I can tell, a mid-range phone can do all I want, call, txt, WhatsApp and take a reasonable photo.

Options I’ve come up with so far:

Through work I can get an S8 for £26.40/mth although it would mean moving providers which I’m not overly keen on doing, unless Three will price match

Buy a Motorola G6 plus outright - £269

Open to suggestions and although I’ve historically been loyal to Samsung, I don’t think there’s a need these days.

Thanks,

Huawei P20 Pro, I 've switched from a Galaxy S8 and really liking the P20 pro. The battery life can easily last 2 days for me and even though the screen res is lower I don't really notice it. Only thing I miss from the S8 is the wireless charging.
Oh the camera on the P20 pro in low light is amazing!

Opps, I read that you are after a mid range phone, Well if you can push your budget to a Huawei P20 pro I would recommend it.
But the S8 is still a very capable phone :)

I was looking at the P20 lite but the speaker indent kinda puts me off. The S8's fingerprint scanner placement look a bit awkward and the G6 plus doesn't have a LED indicator.

I've ask the mods to move this post using the 'Contact us' function is there a better way to get in touch with them, because obviously it's not working

Thanks for the suggestions, I went for the S8 in the end I nearly succumbed to the chinese phones but a lack of headphone jack put me off, although the Oneplus 6 looks interesting
