any1 ever tried a "killer NIC" , was wondering on your experiences of them, are they worth it etc, i regard experiences from OCuK as more valuable than other sources so I'll appreciate the feedback,

Various reviews and benchmarks say they work and boost your FPS but I don’t know any end user’s with one. I dont think they are out in the UK. But I have not looked around.

If you're even considering blowing $250 on a NIC, forget it right this second and invest the money in something which will actually provide a noticable difference – money towards a new processor or graphics card, for example.

That's a killer price.

It's not worth it tbh. You'd get near equal results if you used onboard gigabit ethernet!

Sure you'll get lower latency's with the killer card. But, an unnoticable difference.

It was asked before and the overwhelming response was NO they are a waste of money and time.

Im pretty sure the best way to get a good ping is choose a good provider to start off with. Some isp actually optimise their routers to minimise hops.

A router is quicker then a usb plug in thing and I think fastest of all is an internal pci adsl card though I use a router myself, it would kill the need for a nic at all.

We should see out of us, who can get the lowest ping/trace to a jolt server or something
