Ok its crunch time IV settled on getting either HP ZR24w or the HP LP2475W. But I’m not sure if I should get the wide gamut monitor or the standard srgb. I no both monitors have issues. I will be using the monitor for standard PC use, some gaming and web development including some design work.

What puts me off the HP ZR24w is lack of connections when compared to the HP LP2475W and the fact that it has scaling issues with 1080p content being stretched to 1900 x 1200. On the other hand, does the latest models of the HP LP2475W still suffer from the green/pink tinting issues?

I was set on getting the HP ZR24w because of the price but now I see the HP LP2475W on a reseller’s website for only £364.99 inc VAT delivered. Which makes me think this would be the best deal overall.
I take it if I buy from the reseller any defaults have to be taken up with HP Directly?

So convince me which one should I go for?

I have a LP2475W and think it is brilliant. Never had any issues with pink tints, although I know some have.

And £364.99 inc VAT is a great price. Cost me almost £100 more to get mine.

Both HP monitors are good but it's more of a preference thing which one you'll like most.

The ZR24w has more desk space due to its higher resolution but you'll get black bars when watching hd movies.

It falls down to which aspect ration you prefer; 16:10 or 16:9.

Scaling is only an issue if you want to play 1080p content from sources other than your pc.

Regarding the wide gamut, when I first got the ZR24w's bigger brother (ZR30w) it looked weird compared to a srgb monitor.

A month later, I appreciated how bright and vivid wide gamut is compared to sRGB.

For gaming and work, wide gamut is better for me at least.

For movies, colours are a bit more saturated, but it doesn't bother me much.

If you could see first hand a wide gamut monitor placed next to sRGB one, you'll be able to see which you prefer.

Both monitors are 1920x1200 16:10...

OP: if I were you I'd order both, take a few days to compare them (particularly the wide vs. standard gamut issues), and then send one back under the DSRs. It's a bit of an inconvenience, and you'll likely have to pay return carriage (should be less than £20), but the monitor is the most important part of your setup and you'll be living with it for several years, so it's worth going the extra mile to get it right. :)
