I saw it on steam this morning, it looks good but is it worth it?

I imagine it to be L4D but, for adults?:D

give me your thoughts:cool:

Got to be honest I dont really like it I got it for the introductory price of £11.
Its just so repetitive same thing over and over and over, It is no left for dead thats for sure.

Same here.

I bought it at the pre-release price of £11 on a recommendation from a friend.

I've played it about 4 or 5 times since and just can't be bothered with it anymore.. too boring and repetitive for me. There's no sense of any achievement in sealing yourself in the same place over and over again to fight off hoards of zombies. At least in L4D there's a goal.. to move on in the level and make it to the end to be rescued.

This was a originally a mod for a different game right? It just feels like they've released this as stand-alone to make some cash.

Is there a way on Steam to give away a game that you've bought to another Steam user?

Its a great game, but it did start out its life as a mod so it is'nt as polished as left 4 dead. It launched with 5 original maps & there are already plenty more user created maps to download & play.
It can get a bit repetitive & getting into a server to play a game can sometimes be a PITA but if you find a decent server with a few friends it's well worth it. If your unsure give it a few weeks & it's bound to be one of steams weekend deals :)

HOW is it better than left for dead please explain ?

I think he means he prefers it. His opinion though (says "for me" at the end), which is fair enough. Personally I prefer L4D. I got Killing Floor for the introductory price of £11 and it's worth that for a bit of fun, but I don't think it is worth £15 tbh.

I would say it is worth the price.

Very similar game to l4d, but adds a couple of nice features such as welding doors together. The SDK has enabled lots of custom maps to be built (some great other not so good). I feel the game is more difficult than l4d, you have to work more as a team.

The dev team have worked hard to fix problems quickly in 2 patches.

The game is a lot more survival, rather than get from A to B like L4D. Prefer it to L4D as it requires more skill and team play. Although the movement and style needs getting used to.

Prefer KF many times over L4D.

L4D was always a bit lackluster for me to be honest. The fact that it has never been wholly stable on my system hasn't helped, but even when I can get a good few uninterupted games in it is generally laggy, linear and uninspiring.

KF is a much easier game to pick up and play, and for me gives me consistent enjoyment. You're still killing hordes of the undead (I don't understand how anyone can really claim that L4D and KF differ in their essential content) but the weapons are more satisfying, it's certainly more challenging, and for me the maps offer much more variety. Only thing that lets it down for me is the lack of competitive multiplayer, which to its credit L4D does very well.

Whichever you were to pick, however, you should accept that they are both fairly shallow, short-burst experiences. Good for a few games during the evenings but little else. Either is worth £15, though certainly no more, but I'd pick KF without question.

Killing floor is more brutal, the weapons are better than L4D IMO because its not a spray n pray, theres no crosshairs, its a bit more real.

If killing floor was as polished as L4D it would be amazing.
£15 is a bit steep for a mod, but I got £1K from my ex when she left me (loan) so I just got this for a laugh and to let some steam out.
