confused...

i did a bt speed test on my 2meg adsl line and i was hoping that it would tell me that i downloaded the test file at something like 240kb/s (which is what i normally max out on on ftps)

instead it gave me some huge number near 2000kbps. can someone explain the difference? and whats the theoretical max i should be getting (large number)

in other words 240kb/s = what in the big numbers :) kilobits per sec i think

thanks

240 Kilobytes/sec is generally how people measure the download speed and also how windows measures it.
to get the big figure like you got on the speedtest you multiple the 240 Kilobytes by 8 = 1920 Kilobits per second.
