I know you guys will all think this a really stupid question and probably laugh.

But I have just been looking at the sandbridge boards on the OcuK site and
want to know why they have graphics card ports on the back???

Surely putting a card into the system is going to be a **** load better than
using that so I cant really see the point?

I'm only wondering this as I have the upgrade itch and it will only be an extra
£30 to get the new sandybridge stuff instead of a normal i5

Cheers

The H67 boards can use the onboard GPU of the sandy bridge chips, however they offer no overclocking. The P67 boards will offer overclocking but no onboard graphics. However considering the price of sandy bridge chips it's not exactly a cheap way to make a PC with onboard graphics... So yeah just buy whichever motherboard suits you and use a discrete graphics card if you want to do any gaming.

Ok thanks.

So with me being a gamer then and i am wanting to upgrade my PC.

Would you suggest me getting a P67 board then.
Even though im not that into overclocking.

Or would i be best just getting a H67 board and putting my own gfx card on the board?

Get the P67 over the H67 if you're a gamer. You might not want to overclock now, but you will later perhaps, and the new CPUs are quite easy and safe to clock, as well as giving decent enough gains depending on your gfx card.

The only real advantage of getting the H67 board is that you could use the onboard graphics as a temporary solution if your graphics card dies at some point... Personally I'd say just go for the P67.

What do you guys think to this little upgrade:

This will go with my existing stuff which is:

ATI Radeon 5770 1024mb Card
Then all the usuall stuff like
HDD
etc etc...

I think that will be more than enough for me to game on as my current setup lets me run
BlackOps on high settings and runs fine.

Just got the upgrade itch lol

Thanks m8 I will get that only brings the total price up by £20.

I will upgrade my gfx card in a couple of month when I can afford to do it lol.

Lets put some extra shifts in at work lol.
