Kindle - Cracked screen? In warranty? No worries!

Pointless thread is pointless, but a heads up. If you've cracked the screen on your Kindle, by your own fault. And it's under the 1 year warranty. Call Amazon.

You get a brand new replacement sent out for free!

I was about ready to dish out some cash to get a hairline crack that appeared after dropping my phone on my kindle paperwhite.

I thought I'd call Amazon to get a quote and was pleasantly surprised by the above! I've now got my brand new shiny kindle infront of me.
 
i have already had 2 replacements sent one because the screen froze and the second because a hole in the coating was letting the light through as a bright spot Amazon cs on the kindle paperwhite is very good
 
I've had two replacements due to odd screen colours. They are very good at replacements and even do so out of warranty.
 
Yeah, Amazon replaced mine out of warranty a while back. Totally my fault it broke too!

They probably prefer to take the hit as opposed to a customer defecting to a competitor.
 
I dropped my smartphone, cracked the rear glass, and Amazon sent me out a replacement FOC too...
 
My very old kindle died and had done the broken screen thing. Amazon gave me 40% off a shiny new one even though I was way out of warranty
