Kindle Fire HD Problem

Just got one of these (won it in a raffle )

Problem is that when the standard usb cable is in, the touch screen becomes terrible, either clicking in the wrong place, clicking multiple times or not clicking at all.

as soon as the charger is removed problem solved.

so far i've tried the 20 second shutdown re-set and leaving it to charge for an hour.

What else can i do?

Is this a known issue or is it actually broken? Might drop amazon an email or phone them to see if they can help.

From their own help page

White Kindle Power Adapters and third-party charging devices, power converters, USB wall chargers, and other charging hubs may be used ( if they are USB compliant ) but may result in slower charge times and inconsistent touch screen behavior while charging.

So unless i buy a power charger, i've got to wait up to 10 hours between uses to charge it from the usb port on my laptop.
