Kindle help needed

Hi all,

I have an old kindle that I was given 5 or 6 years ago, the person that had it before me had done something to it so that they could display their own wallpapers on it.

Didn't bother me as they deleted the images so I just get a blank screen.

However, I have 3 days to update it with some new patch so that I can continue to use kindle services and it will not update. I seem to remember having update issues before with it and just didn't bother. It is something to do with the screensaver hack.

Anyone know how you can restore it to normal so I can get it updated? All I get is a message that says "no new items"

Factory reset not work?
Don't have my Kindle to hand so can't check where the option is.

Tried a factory reset and all that actually does is wipe the contact details / books from the phone.

It doesn't seem to touch the core files unfortunately. The lad that gave it too me can't remember what he did to hack it, just "found some instructions on the net!"

I googled "Kindle 4 wallpaper hack" there's loads of guides on how to install the jailbrake, and a few on how to uninstall it!!
