Kindly check my spec?

I have to say that with the BenQ, I would much rather go with that for gaming over graphic design and the like. It is a fantastic monitor, but accuracy is not one of its strongest points.

If you view the monitor as a long time investment and this is a course for which the computer will be used a lot, I would really suggest going for something like the Dell Ultrasharp 23'', it will make the time spent a lot more pleasurable than the 24'' TNs.

I didn't think you could get that screen within budget but maybe I'm wrong. We use dell here during normal hours and they are pleasant to look at.

Is sixty pounds over budget. However the main base is way less than she is willing to spend. And I definitely believe that a fantastic monitor like that would improve her quality of life to the extent that it would be worth to spend that extra money on it. However, the Monitor forum will provide more information on that.

Deffo try to get the Dell IPS. If she's doing pro graphics work and needs accurate output, a TN panel will be nothing short of annoying the way the brightness shifts with any up/down movement of the head.

I've not seen an ips panel IRL, but from what you say, and others say - they are worlds apart from the normal panels?

The colour accuracy and viewing angles are markedly improved from what you see in the cheaper panels. Those are the two major differences. Of course you also have the bells and whistles, more often than not the build quality of the 150ish pound monitor just will not stand up to an IPS, not because of any inherent differences but it comes with the territory all the same.

Still haven't bought, being indecisive!

Any idea why the build seems to be cheaper than if the components are bought seperately?! Seems backwards to me.

Seems logical to me. You pay extra for the labour involved with the assembly and build, so if you do those things yourself you will save.

That is what I would assume it to be, but it is in fact the other way around, it costs more if you pick each item individually!
