Kinect launch game line up

I'll probably get Move as I've seen the starter pack for £39.99 in two shops without really looking. Not that bothered by it but I'll get it. There's no way I would pay the Kinect prices.

In all honesty did anyone think it would be anything different? Full of sports/fitness/dancing games, at this early stage MS need games that will appeal to people who dont have 360s. They may not appeal to many "hardcore" gamers, but they SHOULD come in the future, ie this time next year. I got move not for the launch games, but to have a mess around with the tech as it only cost me £28 for a wand and for the games listed in the future. I dont actually think MS and Sony are after the same crowd, just looking at say the next 6 months of motion gaming Sony seem to be catering to the more hardcore game space, whereas MS seem to be after the more casual gamer. The biggest difference is that MS are talking about this as the second coming and have a $500 million dollar ad budget for kinect , thats probably around 10 decent AAA exclusive games. Think i would rather they spent half that and got me some 360 games that i actually want to buy.

I've got Kinecimals for my 2 girls, Ubisoft Total Fitness for my wife and Dance Cental and Kinect Adventures for the family on a Sunday afternoon on order. My wife quite wants that Zumba fitness game as well though we'll wait for the inevitable price drop.

Can't wait.

They look fairly rubbish to me however i'm 25, have no children and my girlfriend plays 'normal' games (ie she isn't into party games etc, she like RPGs and the occasional shooter) so i'm miles out of the target audience for pretty much all of those titles.

Kinect is mainly for kids/family, while Move can be enjoyed by the more harden gamer.

Personally, I love the Move and don't really want to stand infront of a TV waving just my hands about like some nutcase.
As I've been gaming for 25+ years I'll always want some sort of controller in my hand.

One game would be fine but you can tell buy the Wii software sales figures alone that a shed load of people buy loads of similar styles of games.

Not on the day of release, and your comparing a console with 70m+ users to one with maybe 3m+ by xmas.

As for iv-tecmans list of Sony games. I'd rather play most with a controller and out of that list I can only see the Wii bunch playing the likes of Eyepet or Sports Champions possibly the bowling or golf game.

Then you clearly haven't used the Move, as most of the games iv-tecman mentioned are better with the Move over a DS3. If you had then even with the limited software you would acknowledge that Sports Champions works really well with the Move.

How can people claim Kinect is crap without actually using it?

You need to remember this board is likely full of more "hardcore" or "serious" gamers - don't under estimate the millions of casual gamers who don't use the internet to research things, and just buy games because of what the box looks like! The idea of a motionless controller or a Wii variant for the PS3 is going to sell loads despite price, especially before Christmas, there is a bigger market here then just gaming geeks...

I have mine on pre-order simply because it lets me play games without the g.f moaning, this way she can join in and enjoy it! She can't wait for the Ubisoft fitness game, she has already bet she can burn more calories then me in a week... BRING IT ON!

Oh and she is looking forward to her pet tiger :/

It's not about whether Kinect is crap it's about how it has 17 launch titles yet when you break it down there is only 3-4 different types of games. So what sounds impressive at first actually isn't.....

We know that, just by looking at the Wii but it doesn't mean that just because something sells well it automatically means it's good and value for money....

So instead of playing shooters/footy games etc you are going to pet tigers and do push ups. Sounds like you should have either brought a Wii instead of an xbox or just take your girlfriend out more often :)

I never said it was crap, I said it was expensive and launch titles are all shovelware and not a lot of choice actually.

Why not save the cash, go swimming with her and take her for a weekend away walking - bet you can burn more calories doing this.. lol and get a bit more fun.. *wink*

Cool, sure she'll enjoy that.

I did actually ask my gf about kinect last night.. Wasn't meet with much enthusiasm.. Said it was too expensive and doesn't want anymore kit under the TV.

We've got a Wii that got removed due to Move, and now i've got a PS3 that is also my blu ray player, move kit for some motion gaming and the TV and she's now happy..!! My xbox360 is upstairs as its used for Forza3 so I can’t see myself getting away with bringing it downstairs, I got away with the Move camera – I’d never get away with a huge bar like kinect sitting there as well..

Agree with your first point, 17 games of similar genre!

I never said it was good value for money, and that all depends on the end user - personally, £130 isn't a great deal of money and for the games myself/friends are likely to play on it - i imagine it will be well worth it in fact.

No, I will still be playing plenty of shooters and action games, but sure I will do some of the more activity family friendly stuff with the missus or my nephews etc...

Oh and the missus get's taken out plenty thanks

My Wii has all the gimmicky controls i need! Having said that I'm interested to see how move works on fps games as I'm useless with joypads :(
