Active 2 is a great, if patience trying, way to get a workout, but the sheer variety of options makes it an attractive choicefor those seeking an alternative to a gym. You can answer surveys to give the program an idea of your basic health, set goals for yourself such as the amount of calories you want to burn in a week, tell the program what weights you want to use in place of the included resistance band, and create custom workouts that target the areas you know are problematic. The Wii version also includes some additional support for the Wii Balance Board, though it isn't required. If you want it to be, Active 2 could be a tool to seriously help change the way you live and organize your life.

Active 2 on Wii and PS3 functions well and will give anyone who’s willing to put the time in one hell of a workout. It has activities that can make exercising a little more fun, and the way it tracks your diet and general health both locally, and online if you choose to upload your stats to EA’s servers, makes it a unique tool that can help you reshape your life and your body. Occasional sensor issues will frustrate people, but either of these versions are a better pick over the Kinect version.
