So there's a lot of hype over kinect. But im wondering how good it will be. I mean supposably you can control a character in a game lets say a fighting or boxing game. Now can you in a boxing game do moves that are your own made up ones and follows your movements exactly or is it still gona be pre scripted moves and you just simulate them with your body? Lets say in a fighting game like sf4. Could you do new moves and not follow the made for the game ones say for fireballs from ken could u do the move instead of the usual move?

Can you go daft in a game like say flip some character off and it will do it with the character in the game lol and get a responce? Kinda like taunts in sf4.

Presumably only games made for kinect will work as intended so games like Mass Effect wouldnt work with kinect at all?

Fight games will be scripted, as they are on all motion based systems, they aren't going to map 1:1 all the time, when beaten to the floor, how is that going to be represented?

There is nothing stopping 1:1 or close to 1:1 at times whilst fighting of course, and it does look like the newer motion fight games are getting pretty much there, you will still have to be confined by some trigger/scripting though.

Yeah ball busting in fighting games, headlocks, dirty moves would be fun using kinect in fighting games. Or grab and hold and smack the itchs.
