I am possibly looking to get a Kinect sensor for my birthday next month and I wondered if the voice commands work by speaking through a headset?

Does that pick them up or does it not work like that?
 
It doesn't work like that kinect itself listens for your voice
that said if you're wearing a headset and your rooms not noisy it will hear you even if your wearing a headset and talking to it.
 
I thought it was a long shot.

I mainly play through my Astro's so wondered if Kinect would pick it up like game chat. The room would be pretty silent so it shouldn't be a problem.

What are some of the best Kinect games? I'd like recommendations for me and also for kids.

I'd be interested too, some good deals for 360 + Kinect bundles around but not sure if the Kinect is any good.

The kids are starting to get bored of the PS3 Move games now.

there a quite a few kinect game demo's on marketplace, give them all a try.

games that work with kinect but you dont have to use..
Forza 4, driving and head tracking.
Skyrim
Mass Effect 3

Thanks, that's quite a good list of games. I already have Forza 4 and Skyrim so will certainly be using it with those. The Skyrim voice commands look very good.
 
I'm tempted to pick up Kinect in the near future, especially with Steel Battalion: Heavy Armour round the corner, which actually looks quite fun.
