King Cobra Beer !

I don't know about you but I do enjoy a Cobra beer with my curry.

Imagine then my suprise and delight this evening when I popped into tesco's to pick up a quick curry for me and Mrs B (Mummiji Mango chicken and Hot pepper chicken - well recommended) and as I reached for the Cobra I spot a new bottle I've never seen before.

On inspection the label reveals it as King Cobra ! Seems to be normal Cobra beer but double fermented and 8% proof !

Well I'm half way through the bottle and I must say that apart from feeling quite happy with life I am very impressed. All the strength and taste of cobra but very smooth

I suspect a few more bottles will be hitting the trolley this weekend -
anyone else tried it ?

Cobra is lovely, but if this stuff is 8% proof surely it's weaker than normal Cobra? :confused:

I dont think its in any way related to the Indian Cobra beer.

Maybe only at a marketing level then as it's got the same branding on the label....

Maybe I'm confused but I always thought Cobra and Tiger beers were weak, something like 4%?

edit: just googled, Cobra seems to be 5%. What made you think it was stronger than 8%?! :confused:

People mixing up %ABV with Proof as usual. You can't have 8% Proof, you either have 8% or 8 Proof.

IIRC Proof is double ABV - so Brugal "151 Proof" is 75.5% ABV

King cobra beer is 8% by volume.

They put Rum with everything in the Dom Rep, I'm sure even the drinking water is laced with the stuff.

I prefer kingfisher. Often nothing though, 'cause indian food wasn't really made to be had with larger.
