Planning on getting one of these as a Game Drive, and I can pick one up for a very good price.

Are they any good, I know many will mention the Sammy drives, but for the price of the Kingston, its too good to give up.

Stick to a good mech drive for games would be my personal opinion (says the man with his Steam folder on a dedicated SSD). To be totally honest, I can't say that I've noticed much (if any!) difference since moving Steam onto a dedicated SSD. Maybe if you are a top O/L player (I've noticed some maps load a bit quicker), or play free roaming games a lot (EG. the METRO franchise)... Other than that, a big expense (though my drive was one of the top performing ones at the time) for very little really.

Up to individuals of course....

I have a Kingston v200 and it works great.

I have Skyrim installed on it and it flies between game screens. On the 1gb mech drive it'd be at least 5-7 seconds slower

I'm a little late now, I bought the SSD anyway, @ £47.99 for a 120gb, its a steal really, should be here around 14.00-15.00.

Its gonna be used for the big main games I play, BF4 (Hoping to god it loads quicker, soooo slow) and DayZ which Dean I believe confirmed it would load much much faster.

but really, it was just an excuse to get another SSD :D

I've got a v200+ or whatever and it's been working fine for the year or so I've had it.

some games load much faster on a SSD, others you won't see to much of a difference

Did a quick test just to see how fast it could transfer 5gb from my O/S ssd to this one, they're were transfering something like 350mb/s...I love SSDs :D

Redownloaded BF4 while I was sleeping, and have to let the new patch download aswell when I get home, heard BF4 loads up a little quicker on SSDs, so worth a shot.
