Hey all,

I have this ram and a 2500k. I want to try and reduce the voltage from the stock 1.65V in line with the guidelines for this CPU. My question is, to do this is it just a matter of reducing it in the BIOS? How do i then test its stability?

Any guidence would be great. Thanks! :)

Pretty much, I reduced it to 1.6v which is within spec. It might also be worth a go overclocking it whilst you're in the bios.

Here is what I achieved (lower is better), but every hardware setup is different.

To test for stability, I'm not too certain, but if it boots up and can run SuperPi 32M without crashing, then its good enough for me.

Oh and also does the 32M in SuperPi mean its for 32 bit Windows? im on 64

Cheers

Edit: Don't worry I just looked it up

Ah thanks for the links Surveyor, the main thing I want to do is to reduce the voltage as I've already had the ram in my system for a couple of months and having seen your signature I want to do something about it

I've got the same memory except on CPU-Z it doesn't say anything under channel and my command rate is 2T. I had my RAM in slot 1 and 2 before which gave me a CR of 1T but still no channel and now i've got it in slot 2 and 4 and still no channel but a CR of 2T (surely it should say dual?).

What CR should I be aiming for and why does mine not say dual? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

These tests cant be correct when overclocking my memory to 2875 mhz and CPU at just over 6ghz (takes nearly 1.9V) which is the most it will bench. My times are no where close to this. This is faster than world record pace!!!! infact its way under!!! Something is wrong here.

Its all down to the memory controller, I wouldn't worry though the difference between 1T and 2T is like 3% in real-world use.
From my experience - the cheeper the RAM and Mobo + the more sticks you install the more difficult it is to keep it in 1T, but its not a problem performance wise anyway.
If your bothered, drop your memory over clock a bit should fix it.
Re: Channels, just update CPU-Z. Or if that doesn't fix it then its just a reporting error.. if its installed right then its 2 channel anyway

Updated to latest CPU-Z and it is telling me my RAM channel is single :/

Edit:

Put the RAM into slot 1 + 2 and now it says Dual with a CR of 1T...yay!
