Quick question,

Quoted from ocuk's shop Recommended memory voltage is 1.50v, so make sure to run your memory at 1.50v, higher than 1.60v could limit lifespan of the CPU Bios is showing voltages as 1.65v if I drop the voltage down to 1.5v I get BSOD.
CPUZ's timing table under SPD tab shows;-

JEDEC #2, JEDEC #3 and JEDEC #4 @1.5v
XMP-1600 @1.65v

What does the above mean? should I be worried?

I have the same MB and the i5 and this same ram.
confused me also, lots of posts about the voltage,
it has me a little concerned, so have mine set @ 1.575 i think but not had time to stress test it. So god only knows if its going to run ok

try setting the ram voltage to 1.55. see how that works. mine is set to 1.5 no problems but its not the same for everyone. as long as its not over 1.575 it will be fine longterm

Enable the XMP profile in the BIOS which will take care of the speed and timings.

It'll also set the voltage to 1.65V so set this manually to 1.55V and see how you get on.

My Kingston runs ok at 1.5V 9-9-9-24-1N 1600mhz but was running it at 1.65V fine, lots of people run 1.65V RAM with Sandy systems, I don't think it's a big issue - remember higher than 1.65V is warned against

Depending on whose advice you want to take higher than 1.60V is warned against.

***OVERCLOCKING GUIDELINES***

- Do not exceed 1.425v core voltage, doing so could limit lifespan of the CPU
- Aim to keep temperatures below 70c underload if at all possible
- Do not overclock with BCLK, again doing so could limit lifespan of the CPU
- Recommended memory voltage is 1.50v, so make sure to run your memory at 1.50v, higher than 1.60v could limit lifespan of the CPU
- These recommendations come from OcUK and Intel, your warranty is un-affected but we highly recommend you adhere to the above to make sure your CPU lifespan is un-affected
- All Sandybridge CPU's worldwide should be run at the above or lower voltages, no higher!

The above advice is from OcUK after discussion with Intel.

I'm not going to debate it.

You can take it or leave it.

thanks it now boots on 1.55v, the lowest i got it to boot was at 1.58v
