hi i have just got my new pc and not sure what the settings for this memory should be,i have 4 1 gig sticks.it does not say anything on the sticks itself, just 2.1v .any ideas.

How about first you tell us what your Multi is and Fsb and Cpu Speed and what type of memory pc6400 ? 8500 ect ect.

I will tell you right now though if you intend to overclock them your gonna struggle becuse of that striker extreme.
but im sure i can help you :)

thanks for reply,to tell u the truth i had a bfg680i and got my base robbed.just got this friday as a replacment.everything is still at stock at moment.just trying to get my head round this asus board.but i am unsure what the standard settings for my memory is.i have not seen this memory before.all i can tell u is that it says kingston hyper x ddr2 and they use 2.1v and they are blue in colour.dont say about timings etc and what speed.just really wanted to know whats the standard mhz and timings really for this memory.is there any programs that reports the timings etc which they should be running at. on my bfg i had a e6600 running at 3.4 so hopefully i will try the same with this.but this was pre built with the gtx and cpu watercooled and dont come overclocked but i have read a lot of bad things about overclocking the striker but i will find out soon..

its really a spot in the dark on timeings but i can give you some stuff to try but without knowing the PC6400 or PC8500 im just guessing.

try this stick your volts on 2.2v

timeings : 5.5.5.15.5.22.5.10.7.8 @1066 (533) Effectve clock PC8500
or try 5.5.5.15.4.15.4.9.7.8 @800 (400) Effective Clock PC6400

try those and remember to boot into memtest you will need hirens bootcd to do this just google it do a complete pass of test 2 and 5 and 8 if they pass no errors
then do a complete full run test 1-8 if still no errors then those clocks work and you can try the other timeings.

once we find your effective PC speed then we can reduce timeings.
