Hey people,

Just a couple of Questions in regards to some memory i have installed...

When I run the above memory at 2000mhz my system specs (in control panel) says I have 4.00GB but only (1.96 usable). Why is this?!?
My PC starts up im told on screen i have 2048MB - 2000mhz, yet I have 4GB (2 x 2) Kingston KHX2000C9AD3T1K2/4GX HyperX installed.

If i clock them to around 1866 or so im told i have 4096MB installed..?!

I bought them cos they're meant to clock at 2000mhz 1.65v under XMP (Extreme Memory Profiles)

Thanks

p.s Is it anything to do with AMD Phenom II's?!

Have you tried clocking the memory to 2000MHz without overclocking your CPU?
Sounds like a memory controller issue, AMD chips generally don't like memory over 1600MHz. Obviously there are exceptions, you said it runs fine at 1866, but in general if you have >1600MHz memory, it's easier to run it at around 1600 and tighten the timings instead.
Only other thing I'd suggest is to try reseating your CPU.

Yes I have run my cpu at stock but same problem. I took one dimm out and the other run at 1000mhz and over-clocked my cpu to about 4GB.... all good there!

I found this on the Asus web site for the Crosshair V mobo.. It's says one dimm!?

Its not a big deal...Im just trying to get my head around it. I'm not that clued up on ram. I bought the HyperX as its meant to go with the mobo

Cheers

From the image you posted it has been tested to work with the motherboard but only with a single stick.

I don't know if that means they didn't test it with 2 sticks (unlikely) or that it just doesn't work with 2 sticks.
