Hi all.

Student loan time soon :D Going to be upgrading my Hyper evo 212+ to a water cooling system.

I've been researching for a while and i like the sound of this one. I've seen a lot of good reviews of XSPC kits and want to know your opinions.

Thinking about this one although i don't know whether to splash out an extra £30 for a 280 rad. In the future i will be extending the loop to include my GTX670.

The other thing im not sure about is fluid. Now i don't want to start another 'Distilled water or pre mixed' thread so i'm going to say i would like a premixed fluid as its easier.

I'm unsure whether to go for a blue coolant and possibly stain my tubing, although thats not a worry for me as i'd keep it the same colour anyway. OR go for a coloured tubing and get a clear coolant.

I'd probably get the pastel one if i were to choose.

Sorry lots of questions and opinions asked. Hope you lot can shed come light.

Go primochill for tubing, coloured or not. it will be a fair while before even the clear stuff stains badly. fluid choice does not matter but would stick with mayhems, koolance or phobya (have never let me down and are superb).

Forget 280 rads, minimal performance over 240 with worse fan choice.

I dont like xspc entry kits cause they use barbs, pump is lacking if you want to expand the loop much and there are better performing rads in the same price bracket. sure the kit is fine if you dont plan on expanding and dont mind barbs over compressions.

How much do you have to spend?

I could replace the barbs for compression fittings not a major issue. And i could always add a 2nd rad for my GFX card at a later date. Not so worried about that atm. Would the pump be able to handle expansion? Most reviews say it should.

It will but itl be stressed and out of all the custom pumps, these are the ones that tend to pop up the most on forums saying they failed or gave up, not that it happens often. Thing is, your budget is sitting in between high end AIO loops and decent custom loops. If you can stretch another £35, this includes reliable compression's, a powerful pump and a better radiator. The block is on par but more flexible when it comes to different sockets and chips. The pump combo in the xspc kit is also a bit noisy since it is a bay combo.

YOUR BASKET
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-Supremacy Clean CSQ - Acetal £49.99
1 x EK DCP 4.0 Pump (12v) £39.98
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-CoolStream PE 240 (Dual) £39.95
1 x Alphacool Reservoir Repack-Cooling Slot-In Black £21.98
2 x Primochill Primoflex Advanced Tubing 13/10 - Clear £5.99 (£11.98)
8 x EK Water Blocks EK-CSQ Fitting 10/13mm G1/4 - Black £2.99 (£23.92)
Total : £187.79 (includes shipping : ).

If not, the XSPC kit will work fine (better than any air cooling) but would recommend changing the barbs out for compression's. The radiators are decent radiators but better can be had for the cash if you could swap components out but then you would lose the price benefit of getting a kit rather than choosing separate components. Same can be said about the pump.

Yeah i think with the addition of fluid (assuming that i'd need more than 1l to fill the whole loop) that comes to around £200. As always decisions have to come down to price. Not quite so bothered by noise as i'm running 8 fans in my case currently + the GFX and CPU fans. I'm sure i can find a way to reduce contact with the bay.

Think i'll just bite the bullet and go for the XSPC 750 with some additional compression fittings and the some lighter blue premixed to hopefully reduce any build up over the pastel mixes.

Many thanks!
