Hi all,

We'll I've been lurking on the Dell outlet threads for some time now and I've decided on the machine that I want, what spec etc...

I imagine I'll end up with a machine w/o a Bluray drive.
I'd like to try to fit one myself when I do get the L702x, has anyone here done this themselves? How was it to fit? What drive did you buy?

Also, I imagine I'd get a machine w/o an SSD so I'd like to install one of those into the L702x to improve boot times and to run some programs like Photoshop on and some games etc... What's the best SSD for me? I'm not looking at something HUGE, just reasonable :)

Cheers!

Sirius

For the take down of the laptop, dell issues a guide to do that somewhere on their website it has a step by step process, iv known people that took the drive out and replaced it with another HDD.

For the ssd the connectors on the dell xps are sata3 so you can got to 6gb per second. i would recomend the m4 drives.

hope that helps :)
