Planning a new kitchen and will be replacing a freestanding cooker with single oven and hob. I plan to use the existing cooker connection unit and a dual outlet plate that will feed the hob and a fused spur for the oven. Also plan on extending the ring main for a extra couple sockets.

All pretty straight forward but from April 2013 the kitchen is no longer notifiable under part p? Am I free to DIY?

Ah I thought the only location would be the bathroom after april. The cooker is currently fed from a 6mm cable but I plan on putting a single oven and ceramic hob in so the load shouldnt be much different than the freestanding one.

Someone has put a 2.5mm cable on a radial for the washer, tumble drier and extractor with a 16a breaker, the plan is to move it and have it below the counter top and then extending the ring thats only feeding the fridge and kettle at minute and add another socket above the work top.

I do work with an electrician now and again so im going to pinch him next time he's local.

Unless I'm wiring a new circuit to the consumer unit or tinkering in the bathroom my impression was your free to do as you please from April.
