Kitchen Storage and Layout Ideas Needed

Afternoon,

After many moons of trying to get a kitchen sorted (since Feb 2013) we finally have the units, worktop and appliances in!

However, as the kitchen is fairly small in terms of worktop space for preparing food I'm just wondering what everyone has done in terms of space saving, either in cupboards or the worktop/walls.

I started to move in the plates and cutlery and such and found I've not got much room for utensils once everything else is in.

I'm sure a thread sharing some tips and tricks could benefit everyone!

Nice ideas, I really like the shelving and the utensils ideas though! Don't fancy drilling into the granite splashback for mine so could relocate.

Where did you get those shelves, would work well in my kitchen on the back wall. How far do they come out?
