Kitchen Wrap?

I’ve wrapped a kitchen and painted one. Finish on wrapped cabinets is great but takes time to do and the corners can be tricky. Opted to paint the doors this time around. It’s a temp solution until we can replace whole kitchen. If painting again I would want them sprayed. Did it with brush and roller and don’t like finish if either really but again it’s a temp solution.

I have also wrapped the worktops in both old house and new. It stands up fine and I know people who bought old house have kept it. Absolute pain to do through as really have to remove sink and hob to do it right. Looks much better but does require more thought around hot pans etc.

vinyl is a cheap solution and can give you a much refreshed look but new doors and worktops would be better.

I think whole kitchen in 3 bed semi was like £200 of vinyl for worktop and all cabinets.

I changed a compressor recently in a new build and whilst i was there two guys were wrapping the new kitchen :o It did look really nice though, they also said only real issues are hot things :)

Surely the first time you drop something sharp on it (e.g. a knife), you'll end up with a hole that water can get into and end up sitting underneath, ruining the surface?

You do have to be careful and don't cut directly on it but dropping a knife hasn't been an issue. The occasional little mark usually flattens down and in the 4 years we had it on the old kitchen we never had it lift or peel. Even then its cheap enough to rewrap a section if needed. I think the vinyl I use is like £3 per meter.

Painted (walls, tiles and cabinets), wrapped worktops and new handles drilled and installed.

For the whole touch up (excluding appliances) it was around £200 and £100 of that was the handles as needed over 30 of them for whole kitchen.

No it will mark it or at worse melt it. We bought Some metal grill stand offs from ikea to put down for pans and hot plates. Few quid each and soon get used to putting it down first. We also use sink and hob for hot items.
