Hopefully someone out there has done this before.
It's a Linux environment but we have a server 2008 running as a KMS server.
When I login to the Microsoft volume license manager I can see MAK keys but no KMS.
I do a bit of reading etc and come across this.
I following the instructions as per MS documentation, but the license I enter for Office Standard 2013, doesn't work.
I do a bit more reading and find on the Microsoft volume license manager portal an entry that reads:
"I am an Open Customer and do not see my KMS (Key Management Service) key displayed on VLSC. How can I get it?
KMS keys are no longer pre-assigned to Open agreements as use of MAK (Multiple Activation Key) keys is the preferred method for activation.
If you are an Open Customer and need a KMS key, please request one by either calling the PA Call Center or emailing KMSADD with your business need."
Am I getting closer to solving this issue? Is contacting MS for my KMS key the right thing to do?
My seem a silly question in light of the above, but I didn't have to do this for 2010.
