I was just thinking there after reading the scary TV Show thread that my favourite kids show had to be Knightmare.....who's all seen it?

I watched it again when it was on Challenge TV and my god did the memories flood back. Three kids guiding a dungeoneer around a series of medieval, mythical levels! Gotta love it!

Yeah it rocked, they should so bring it back, with todays virtual environments it'd be superb.

It rocked. :D

Myself and a good friend helped create a few of the Visual Backdrops for that program.

The days of 2D. :D

It was much better when it first started, a far more puzzle feel, the later series tried to be grander introducing more actors and different types of rooms like long corridors but it became much more of a pantomime.

Used to be the best thing on TV at the time but the episodes used to go so quick and the bell would sound and you had to wait a whole week for the next one.....Noooo

Theme tune was just awesome too.

You know I actually thought Lord Fear was excellent when he came into the show! He brought a good bit of banter between himself and Treguard and was as charasmatic as they come! He was definately on of the best additions to the cast!

Wasn't there something similar that was more futuristic and had some kind of fish presenting it? It might not have actually existed, but it was deffinitley a sack of cack.

If i can dig out the theme tune its about to become my ringtone!

PK!

LOL can just imagine some geek watching that now and wondering why they didn't turn up AA up.

Actually is it wrong for me to think that?

In a similar vein to this is a current kids programme Called Raven. I've been forced to watch it by my 8 year old neice but must admit, it's actually pretty good. Not sure where it's filmed etc but it sort of hot and dusty looking.

There are 3 teams of I think 4 people, and they have to do various different tasks, which test, strength, skill, intelligence etc. Some of the tasks are incredibly well thought out.

The overall premise of the show is something to do with winning crystals to be able to enter some castle or something. All the kids are given a warrior name and during the tasks if they fail they lose lives and can end up out of the game. It's quite enjoyable to watch as a 29 year old. I know I would have loved it and would have wanted to go on it when I was a kid!!!

Oh, and I loved Knightmare when I was a kid. Anyone remember the health meter graphics, the head which used to lose parts of the helmet. Only ever came up when the player picked up bread or something to replanish their health.

I loved Knightmare. Friday afternoons, CITV, Astro Farm then Knightmare. Ideal. I had the Amiga game of the show, but it was absolutely terrible.
Anyone remember a similar thing on BBC with a lift, and there were various games on different floors? One involving a big bowl of cereal that the contestants got 'shrank' into, and one involving a dark knight who moved on squares?

masterdog, that springs to mind, but cannot think of what it was called.

The ultimate show that ppl wanted to be part of was funhouse

wow I was only talking about this at work a bit back, they should bring it back shame it's a kids show I would go on it :p

Me and mates applied to be on Knightmare - and got shortlisted. Never got picked in the end though. :( Also I've met Tregard & Pickle (the irritating elf from the later series) and got their autographs. Beat that. :p
