Does anyone knit? How hard is it, how long would it take someone that hasn't held a knitting needle before to knit a pair of mittens?
I also like the idea of knitting a stocking, and filling it with gifts. That would be a lovely present.

Gay thread, is a little... gay.

I was like, wait, what, am I on mumsnet again?

But then again, I want to learn knitting too :D So I can knit scarves...NOT Harry Potter scarves...noooo, not at all *whistles and walks away*

Knitting is not very hard once you get the hang of it. Only thing I hate is that if you knit a bit wrong you have to knit "back" to where it happened.

What's difficult is getting it even. I suggest doing a few scarves first :p

Have a drink, look up some videos on the tube of you and then have a drunken attempt at it! Fun for all!

I'd strongly advise against this as you may have something unwanted sticking out of your private bits if you miss spectacularly.

Don't ask. Just don't.

I still like the idea of knitting some gloves/scarf or something like that. Anyway, providing warmth and comfort to your loved ones is surely one of the most manly things that you can do?

I would get a pint down me, but I'm horribly hungover!

Back in the day when mobile devices never existed, I learnt to knit, I just love to pretend I could knit with the needles hitting each other, master sewing to a degree but knitting not hard to learn but its pointless in 2011 or is it! Not picked up a pair of needles for years, not since that fateful night.

When I was a kid every older woman I knew or encountered could to knit or sew, now you have a challenge finding a woman that can work a microwave!

Equals rights ha! When I ever turn around at the bar its a woman beside me.
