Knives

I think it's 18 years old. I know they won't sell them to 16 year olds. You will need identification as well, if they think you are too young.

why are butterfly knives illigal I was gonna bring one bak from italy

Classed as an offensive weapon. Probably because they were seen as popular among hooligans, gangs etc.. and also seen as having no purpose other than being used as a weapon.

What balderdash! I'm quite sure I can use a butterfly-style folding knife just as I'd use any other knife, folding blade or fixed blade.

Operative word being 'can'. I'm pretty should I 'could' use a 75" sword to butter my toast...... but that doesn't mean it has a legitimate function!

Meh, it just reeks of legislative hand-holding. They must be smarter than you, why else would they know what's best for you better than you yourself know.

Well. The 'smart' ones are soon to ban ALL swords soon, blunt, professional, historic whatever..... Screws martial artists over (Kendo/Iaido, anyone?). There is a petition on the No. 10 site but the link has escaped me.

EDIT - link: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/swords/ please sign.

Billy, did you for even half a second read what I posted? Regardless of how YOU can use them compared to folders/fixed blades, they are classed as an offensive weapon. It's a fact not balderdash.

I'm not having a go at you, sir, and I apologize if I made it sound that way. I was merely reacting to the classification of a tool like a knife as a dangerous weapon.

My mistake then, I thought you were. I totally agree with you 110% by the way. Butterfly knives are by far my favourite type of knife, pretty unfortunate actually they should be classed any more dangerous than other knives & seen as offensive weapons. If they weren't I'd have a hell of a lot more than what I do. ;)

What exact need to you have to keep a butterfly knife. It serve's no purpose other than as an offensive weapon, and IMO is quite rightly illegal.
