Hi, I'm getting ready to order a new rig after procrastinating for the last year or so. I don't have a specific budget, but I'd like something high end that'll last a few years.
First, here's what I have now.

e6600 @ 2.8Ghz - Had a few experiments with clocking higher, but didn't have the patience to persevere.
Asus P5Q Pro Turbo
2 x 2Gb Corsair XMS2 DDR2
Sapphire Radeon 5850
2 x Samsung F3 1Tb drives in RAID 0
1 x WD Green 1Tb drive
Optical drive
Corsair HX520 Modular PSU
Asus Xonar Xense soundcard
Coolermaster ATCS 200 case

My main issue gaming at the moment seems to be the CPU, but I'd rather replace the whole tower while some of it still has some resale value, rather than keeping the 5850 and waiting for the next generation of GPUs.
I'll be using this pc primarily for gaming at 1920x1200, on the usual list of upcoming titles like BF3, MW3, Guildwars2 etc.
I'll be keeping the HDDs and soundcard.

Here's my effort:

YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 580 DS SuperClocked 1536MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card£389.99
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail with FREE TrackMania 2 Canyon PC Game £173.99
1 x Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £154.98

1 x Samsung SpinPoint F4 EcoGreen 2TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD204UI) £55.99

Total : £1,218.19 (includes shipping : £14.75).

Any input would be appreciated, I'm hoping to order within a week.
Thanks :)

Nothing much to say, looks really good, the case may turn up damaged but you might get lucky.

I am slightly worried about that, but I haven't really seen any other cases that I liked the look of as much the R3. I like the layout of the Silverstone cases, but I can't stand the look of the front of them =/

here's the bundle stulid mentioned

have you considered 2x 6950s?

unless I'm missing something you don't have an optical drive or os on the list.

ps I doubt the whole tower has too much resale value as a whole with the e6600 holding back the 5850, if it was a q6600/q9650/etc then maybe.

I was mainly thinking of selling the 5850, those seem to go pretty quick on the members market. I realise the rest isn't worth a lot.

I've never used sli/crossfire before, If it was a lot better value for money I'd consider it. I'll look into some comparisons, thanks for the suggestion.

I'll be re-using my win7 licence from the current pc, and probably the optical drive. Half thinking about getting a Blu-ray drive though, since I don't have a standalone player, and this pc will be linked to my TV too.

I'll have a look at the case included in the Coolermaster bundle, but I'm pretty much sold on the R3 already, despite the possibility of getting a damaged one.
