Koolance COV-RP450 Resevoir Question

Hi All,

Im completely new to Watercooling and have recently put together a new setup, but have run into an issue and wondering if anyone can shed some light; I currently use the Koolance Cov-RP450 D5 Pump Top, that has a 60mm Reservoir adapter, so that you can attach a reservoir directly to the pump top itself.

Now the reservoir thread is slightly to big, so that it does wind down the thread of the pump top, but easily slips off, or if you tighten it, it just jumps out the threads....which I horribly found out, when accidentally knocking the thing, when it was full of coolant and it poured out over the bottom of my case!! (luckily the res is at the front and nowhere near over £1500 worth of new PC parts!)

The Res I use is the EK Multioption Reservoir X2 150 Advanced, both res and pump top are brand new so its not as if the threads are worn.....can I assume that not all 60mm res and tops are created equally and are not universal? (unlike G1/4 threads for fittings)......or do I have to buy the Koolance res specifically for that pump top? Which in itself would be annoying, as I like the multi options for input in the top.

Sorry for the length of text and thanks for any help :)

If you are talking about taking the bottom end cap off the Ek res and and merging it to the pump unit,i would assume only koolance res's would work to do it that way due to compatiblity issues.

You could just get a male to male extender connect the ek res to the pump that way

ok thank you....I did think, that you may have to buy a Koolance res, but stupidly assumed that 60mm would be a standard like the G1/4 threads are.

Ok that is a useful option, thank you......just have to weigh up whether is better to just buy a 120mm Koolance res (they aren't expensive) or do the above.

thanks! :)

You should be able to buy just the 60mm koolance tube and a res end cap rather than a full unit, should save ya a few quid ;)

they do - it's just called a base.
