I was going to go for swiftech as youu guys say its good kit for beginers. But ive fallen in love with the looks of the Koolance.

What about the fanless stuff like this?

Id love a silent system (or will this be no quiter than the other too?) Is it as good at keeping things cool?

Will be going in a Antec 900 gaming case

Which is better performance wise(wont be used for serious over clocking, just a bit of tweaking)? Future upgrading?

Koolance is not very good to say the least. It's not carp but it's not in the same league as Swiftech. Fanless stuff really only works if your system will be on for limited amounts of time and not under constant high load. The easiest to upgrade and get the maximum longevity from is the Swiftech which is also the best performing. In addition, if your system is not overly stressed or over-clocked you will be able to run with very quiet (i.e. inaudible) fans such as Yate Loons or Nexus.

<standard disclaimer>In my opinion, of course.</standard disclaimer>

Koolance are crap, and I really don't mind saying it.

For a starter the performance isn't the best, and their product quality is even worse. They actively use aluminium although they plate it but I've read and seen pictures where the plating has just peeled off like weathered paint.

Also add into the mix that they like to lie to the market about the performance of their products. They did a radiator test with other copper radiators vs Aluminium and they used this stupidly powerful industrial blower which is not akin to what we use in water cooling.

Swiftech all the way.

i stand by my koolance.

no peeling plate on any of the blocks, even the poor old one that got terribly scratched and i had to buff (not lap) flat again (a few discoloured patches, but no peeling)

no build quality issues, even after close to 5 years abuse
top at the water with a few cc every 6 months and pull fluff out of the rad is all i do.

i spent a fortune on an eheim 1250, DD TDX + 1/2" pipe. i got it working fully passive, but the temp was never that far from the old koolance, even when i used a bong and had 2c below ambient water. it was also a pig to get a good mount, the koolance is just so easy to mount well by contrast..... (koolance at load runs about +15/+17c core temp vs water temp, the TDX was about +11c for 1 core, and +15c the other which was the best mount i ever managed) and being brutaly honest the difference that made was about .0125v for stability across the board, and raised my suicide level by about 25mhz. didnt help max stable atall

never used a swiftec system so i cant comment. but i recomend koolance.
