Guys (and indeed Girls),

I have a koolance RP-452X2 which states that D5 pumps can be used, so off I trot pickup a couple of D5 pumps but when I testing it nothing got pumped.

Now the pumps have to effectively be installed upside down -

And every D5 pump I can find says don't install upside down or it could run dry, which does make sense.

Anyone seen these before and advice? I've had to revert back to my XSPC D5 bay res / pump for 10ft of tubing, CPU, 2 x GPU blocks and MO-RA3 whilst it's working for now....

Oh sorry I thought you were asking for some pre purchase advise, didn't realise you had bought it.

Okay, first of all double check you have it plumbed properly as the are a number of ways it can be set up, secondly, don't plug the second pump in until after the loop has been filled/bled/run it/etc.

Any pictures of how you have it set up?

Are you using both sides of the res or just the right? And if so do you have the correct acrylic piece in and the bridge at the bottom open (the are two pieces for if you want to run the res's combined or separate).

It should be set up like this at the back:

I've just re-setup the pump and took the following steps -

-> check the combined res - when I fill it fills both sides
-> attached pump 1 -> sure enough water came pumping out (nothing else attached) and various strengths depending on pump speed
-> attached a rad, filled
-> switched on pump - nothing comes out, give it a wiggle (a major tip towards the back forcing water into the pump) and things start filling up and pumping round and then on side of the res becomes bubble central and nothing goes anywhere

all very odd...

Ok, figured some more out, it's sending water out but bringing it back in on either 1 or 2 pumps.

Do you have the clear plastic blanking plate installed in the left side? without that pump 1 will just pump water out of the right res into the left res.

*EDIT*

If you look at the pic above, the return from the loop enters on the leftmost port, which feeds the res on that side, which feeds the pump on that side, which exits the centerleft port and loops into the centerright port which feeds the res on that side which feeds the pump on thta side which pumps out of the rightmost port.

with the plate installed it's as above but the second res is bypassed and pump 1 feeds pump 2.

Blanking plate is definitely in, the cap underneath is removed to combine and the metal loop is in. Just doesn't seem to function which is odd as there no real parts.. grrr.
