I am currently trying to get rid of my eyefinity set up. I am looking at getting either a 24inch Dell IPS or the 27inch Korean monitors but I'm stuck on what to choose as I will need the monitor to last through Uni and also have no problems such as dead pixel/stuck pixels.

Would it be better to skip on the Res/Size and go for the security of the Dell or vice versa?

I have a 27" Korean pcbank and a Dell 24" 2410 I have loaned as I'm thinking of going back to a 24". The Korean screen is miles better than the dell. The quality of image is far supperior and I notice no ghosting on the pcbank but quite a bit on the Dell.

Tbh so far the only benefit I can find with the Dell is the warranty and possibly the extra inputs for which I have no use.

Yeah the only thing that is stopping me getting a Catleap or Crossover is the lack of warranty and the chance of it having dead pixels.

dammit, bought a 27" fujitsu a week ago.

although i am satisfied with it, i would have waited to check this one out.

I woosed out and got a Dell from the UK which arrived bashed but working. I have the most pants luck with deliveries so ordering from Korea for a bigger monitor, I predicted grief.

if the cut down or cheap version is only going to be a hundred quid cheaper give or take a few quid, than the u2711 may as well buy the proper one imo.

and its shiney buy the sound of it ..

Depends what you get, mine is £250 less than a u2711.

U2711 - £500 and above
Korean IPS - £200 - £240

Where do you get a £100 difference from?!?!?

yes sorry didnt make that clear was comparing the dell models if its a £200 diference i can sort of see the value if you dont need the extra or want the extra bits as long as the warranty is still 3years no questions asked if not i would pay the extra i think

Warranty on the 'consumer' versions is still 3 year but not quite as good as with the more expensive versions.
e.g. The u2410 has better warranty than the u2412m, the pixel warranty is also only valid for the non-consumer versions.

The Dell u2410 and everything bigger than it (u2711/u3011) come with the awesome pixel warranty and service.
The u2412m/u2311HM etc don't, I expect the u2713 to be added to this row.
