I picked it up ages ago for about £15 thinking dang that looks good...but havnt got round to installing it, is it worth putting on?

p.s. its Starwars:Knights of the old Republic

Only if you like slow paced rpgs found it very boring myself and gave up on it early, never understood why people liked it.

I don't think it's helped by the fact that the first planet is quite slow, you've only got a small party and the storyline at that point maybe isn't the greatest. Still, it was enough to get me hooked which was surprising as it was the first RPG I'd properly undertaken since Shining Force 2 (unless you count hack'n'slash like Diablo2).

The best elements of the game IMO are the storyline and characterisation. There's probably better games out there in terms of combat and character development (in terms of stats etc, not the human element).

Yeah like HangTime said, the first part of the game isn't the best. However if you like Star Wars I'm sure you'll find that first part interesting. Its when you leave Taris does the story start to really take off.

WHat makes KotOR 1 a really good game and much better than the second one is the direction. Coupled with a good story of course, but its how they paced the game and introduced everything just at the right time that really made it amazing.
