So i bought Kotor2 about a year ago and found it to be so buggy i just couldnt play it, with much disappointment i just left it. Anyway i dust it off and patch it up and get stuck in again only to find even more bugs than before the patch!
Swoop races are impossible to play when your car is hovering ABOVE the whole track and cant hit the boost markers at all, characters in my team just vanish into thin air. After the first one this is a joke!
Am i better off getting the xbox version or is that just as bad?

Never had any of those problems... and swoop bikes are supposed to hover, surely?

Yes they are, but not 40ft above the ground so you can fly right over all obstacles....which sounds great in theory but not when you need to hit the boost plates to beat the times required :(

I used to have a bug were even if you beat the times the race chief would say sorry you lost, but since the patch it does this.

The many times I have played it, I have never had any of those problems, but the bugs can ruin the game a little.

The Xbox version was fine for me, so I'd say have a go at that if you really want to play it.

Strange, played the game through a few times and never encountered any of the problems you have.

Try looking your problems up on google or the official forums, could be a specific problem with your hardware setup.

I seem to remember having swoop bike problems in KotOR 2 as well. Everything else worked thought so I ignored it.

Did any of you experiance chronic frame dropping, on Dantooine? The Characters were in real frozen, slow mo!!. One other issue i did have, was with the 2.1 "from A to B patch". Had a Graphical (t&l i'm guessing) glitch occur, with the software lighting. It occured on Peragas Kolto tank Chapter Sequence. Shaded out environment. The aforementioned, was inherent to the game.

I had the chronic Dantooine frame issue. The solution, however annoying, was basically while in game, change the texture detail, to another setting then carry on until you got it again, and repeat.

To get rid of that frame rate problem you can just add

Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1

to the
[Graphics Options]
section of the swkotor2.ini file in the games folder, worked fine for me, had to try it this morning since I'm playing it through again, its the only problem I've had so far and I'm on the last planet now.

Thanks :) I will edit that file. I did try adjusting the Texture levels, but it did not work for me. This was a while ago though, havn't played Kotor2 for a long time. Be great if you could play through the game with Darth Vader amongst others. Never found much in the way of mods. Any of you peeps know of any? Only site i have found is StarWarsKights!

I had some real problems with this game too. I absolutely loved the first, and have played it through 2 or 3 times I think now. Unfortunately the second is bug ridden, and the OP is right when he said the patch only seemed to introduce bugs! ;P.

Anyway, I had a few bugs which meant I couldn't progress in the game, but found some user made patches to solve a few of the bugs - I don't know where I got them though, but perhaps you can google about?

Hi. Havn't managed to find any specific patches as such, not yet anyway. But this site might be of interest. Loads of mods.

I know you have said you can't remember, but any chance you might be able to remember a strand of a username, or something?
