hi guys, trying to extended the life a bit of my now noisy Gigabyte GTX 670 with Gainward cooler until i can afford a new card. Looking at the above cooler but it only says compatible with 670, does anyone know if this covers my GTX 670 as I think its slightly bigger and different to a standard 670?

If not this cooler open to any suggestions!

Cheers, Al

Sounds a bit pricey to have to buy the adaptor and a closed loop cooler just to extend the life a bit.

I notice Rajintek do some GPU coolers but they don't seem to cover even the stock 670.

My advice would be to take your cooler apart, clean and re-apply thermal paste as it sounds like it hasn't always been noisy?

Easy test then. Stop fans one at a time and listen for any obvious loud fan and look to replace or ghetto mod something in its place.

No you probably cant replace the fans, he means remove the fans altogether and strap some replacements to the heatsink using tie wraps etc.

If your GTX 670 is a reference board the G10 will fit. If I were you I would go with something like the Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo II I would only consider an AIO if you have a spare or can get one for about £20.

Indeed. If it is the Phantom cooler remove the plastic shroud, the thin rubbish fans and strap a couple of spare 92mm/120mm fans on there with cable ties. It won't be super attractive but you could probably get the card cool and keep the noise right down.

If you use PWM fans you can even buy a mini PWM to PWM connector cable, splitter and wire them up for automatic fan control. I've also made wiring solutions for something similar for a few people when they wanted Gelid Icy Visions with full automatic PWM fan control for their 3 pin fans. Bit complicated but worked a treat for them.

So for a few quid of cables and what not, if you have some spare fans (and who doesn't have at least 20 in a box) then worth a try for a few weeks/months.
