I'm wanting to install a Kraken G10 on my zotac 780ti. I've read that you need extra cooling on the vrms and memory. Inside the zotac, the vrms and memory seem to already have heatsinks installed. Below is a picture of the inside of the zotac.

Can I install the Kraken and leave the existing vrm/memory heatsinks or should I remove them and buy new ones for it?

thanks

You can leave them on, I had a similar situation with my 7950 so didn't bother buying new heatsinks for the VRAM/VRM, and not noticed any overheating problems.

Second that - easy job if the VRMS can keep the original heatsinks. Biggest hurdle I have found with aftermarket coolers is making sure the VRM's are catered for.

Make sure you do a test fit to see if the pump block does fit with the RAM heatsink in place.

VRM sink looks good to go but I'd want something better for the VRAM, presumably the contact plate is cooled by the heatsink so will not work well just left to cool passively.

I think it would be fine you wont get much better. On the original cooler it looks like the RAM heatsink touches the heatpipes but only on the left/right.

My Ram has small heatsinks on https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-000-WC&groupid=701&catid=2330&subcat=787 and its fine.

That vrm heatsink will be fine on there!! And even better that you don't have to bother messing with it.
I got these on my 780:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Watercool passive cooler for VGA RAM 8 Pack £5.59

They work perfectly fine.
Obvs you will need more than 8. But they work and i used thermal adhesive for them also, instead of thermal pads. But that stuff once applied is incredibly difficult to remove without causing damage.

ive just recently installed a g10 to my 780 and i fan that comes with the g10 is more than enough for vrm cooling my card idles at 23' and reaches max of 55' running everything on ultra :)

i brought the vrm heatsinks only to be sure if i needed them and didnt they just sit in my box haha

I have just ordered the X41 and G10, looking for good cooling. I made the mistake of purchasing an Matx motherboard for my sli 780's and boy are they hot and noisy, no gap between them.

Trying one x41 initially on the upper card, if it works out, will get a second for lower card. I have not been able to overclock them at all, so fingers crossed. Hoping this solution will tie me over until next year when new cards hit.

Well that didnt work too well. My idea on having two cards with G10's is a failure. With the G10 fitted to the top card, the bottom card will not fit.

However I wont be defeated and to remedy the situation I have ordered an Asus z97 gaming. With greater distance between the cards my plan to fit two G10's should work.
