Am I right in thinking all that is required is a 120mm fan space? The pump then attaches to the fan?

It's to go inside a coolermaster 430. Should I mount it at the rear or ontop?

at the rear, since the case doesn't have an exhaust fan, seems the perfect place. I suppose either will work really. keep the pipes at the bottom so you get no air in the system. Seems to have worked better for me and my H50.

As for 'the pump', if you mean the radiator, then yes.

Yes. Put the fan to exhaust out of the system. Here's mine. You may be able to tell from this.

I wasn't sure if the rad was a double or not. Didn't know if it would fit at the rear. Thought it may have been a 240mm. Should have read the specs closer. A pump lol. I know what I ment :p

Hi robfosters, I'm not sure weather to bite the bullet and go for a Kuhler 620 myself due to possible noise levels and "fish tank pump sounds" :) . I've been advised to opt for either Silver Arrow, Noctua D14, Venomous X and the Phanteks instead of the Kuhler 620 due to them being quieter and more efficient(with the drawback of being much larger/restriction of ram height etc).
Can you please let me know how she goes/any issues?

I do like the idea that it takes away the heat directly out of the case (help to keep mobo cooler) and the small space it takes up(handy for fitting larger ram units).

Many thanks

I have 2 together and I don't get any strange noises. I have Apache blacks not the stock fans thought, but the pumps are fine.

There was a blog by Antec which was looking at exhaust Vs intake and showed that having a push/pull configuration with air being taken in from the outside (rather than exhausted like how most people would have it) gave cooler temperatures.

No pump noise/buzzing for me. Replaced the stock fan with a couple of Akasa Apache fans which run at 100%.

There are only a few degrees difference between push, pull and push / pull. If you are not pushing the overclock, either will work.

I set up my H50 with an apache as exhaust (drawing air from the case), and still got good temps on overclocking a 1055T. The case was a Lian Li PC-A71B though.

Maybe more useful having air coming from the back, and exhausting at the top with another fan, but I don't think the temps will be that much improved.

Do you have a link? I'm speculating about the fan config based on the H50 that I owned, wondering about the H2O 620.

Careful with big air coolers, the case is pretty small, make sure it can fit. The Silver Arrow is a tad bigger than the Noctua with its fans, over 160 mm. Dunno about the Phantek. I would tab on 163-165mm clearance for the SA.

EDIT : make it 167mm

I would just get a Hyper 212 Evo / 612 / Gelid and be done with it (612 is 163mm, the other two are 160mm).

There is not much reason for going with a uber cooler if you are not gonna REALLY push the overclocking.

I don't have a problem with water units. I've used a H50 for ages, and found it really good. Make the internals of the case cleaner, some say they reduce airflow around the motherboard area. Now I have a MUX-120 and provides all my cooling needs at 4.5GHz.
